DON’T SELL YOURSELF
You see, my fellow man, very long time ago, I decided to relieve myself from having my spirit sucked dry. Be free and be myself, even if I loose some wealth. In time I hope you realize, you’ll see the answer behind your closed eyes… Don’t sell yourself. You want me to play the game, Sell my soul for change and you won’t apologize, no! You want me to disguise, Cover up my skin, go along with the lies, no! Give of myself only to be let go on the street; How do you sleep at night?! But oh, there’s no need for you to feel down, oh, so release! Now you have time to focus on you and be yourself! Don’t sell yourself for a few stones, Stand strong on your own! Hey you, where have you been, have you been, And how’d you get there? Well I’ve been on the road For about seven years or so And I can say I never stopped to look behind. Everyday you wake up, everyday you breathe, Just another day to be thankful for! It’s been said before, we’re all in a race, But no matter how hard you try time’s gonna win first place But keep on climbing, keep on moving, keep on giving, keep on living. HOW FAMILIAR How familiar, I’ve been here one too many times With this pen, writing over and over again. I can’t help myself, All I do is think about love, I’m consumed, And I don’t know what to do. I can’t help myself, All I do is think about love, what you did, And you never admitted a thing.
